What would you do?
Say there’s an Olympic distance race less than four weeks away. You’ve never done a race at that distance. You haven’t done an open swim (even in practice) for 18 months. You’ve never swum in a wetsuit at all. You barely train at that distance at all (usually 1350 - 1800 yards per workout, but could probably do better if you didn’t have a bad swim attitude). Your biking is up to 30 miles, but no hill training yet this year. The farthest distance you’ve run in 5.5 miles and frequently battle both achilles and IT pain.
What do you do over the next few weeks to get ready? At what point do you decide to pull the trigger or not?
