I’ve decided to change the name of my blog. It was IMtraining, but since I’m training for a half, I thought it was a bit misleading. Plus, I’m not sure that you’d call what I’m doing right now “training”. More of a haphazard collection of workout failures with obstacles thrown in for fun.

February Goals
It’s already the 6th, so I should probably get started on this month’s goals.
I’d like to start an official training program at the end of March, so I need to make sure I’m on track for that.
1) Long run - 3.5 miles or 45 minutes
2) Long ride - 20 miles or 1 1/2 hours
3) Swim - 1800 meters in 1 hour workout

Sinking fast
I’ve been consistently swimming since last summer, at least 2 - 3 times per week. I worked up to 1800 yards and was feeling pretty good about that. Because I was slow, I thought it would be a good idea to work on form to try to help get faster. I was also only breathing out of one side which I realized was not a good idea.
First, I just started working on breathing out of my bad side....

January goal review
Just reviewed my January goals, not bad.
1) Swim lessons, increase form & endurance
2) Create workout plan that includes at least two runs & bikes each week. Three swims/week.
3) Focus on clean eating, drop 3-4 pounds.
4) Continue strength training, but incorporate more yoga. Continue ankle exercises and stretching daily.
Swim lessons - yes. Better form, not really but trying....
