The Dirty Dozen is a bike race in Pittsburgh where you race up the 13 steepest hills in the city. One of them is Canton Ave with a grade of 37%, unofficially the steepest hill in the world. For the first time in eight weeks, I’m walking without a limp.
Lessons learned:
1) Don’t run if you’re in pain, you’ll just make it worse
2) If your pain is recurring, even if it’s not acute, go see a specialist.
3) Talk to other athletes to get recommendations for good therapists
I haven’t done much running this entire year because of my achilles...

P90X + swimming = angry arms
You don’t realize what a weak, gelatinous mess you are until you start a strength training program. My first p90x workout was Thursday - chest & back - basically a ton on push ups. It’s very disconcerting when your muscles just won’t do what you want them to do.
